A slightly odd title, but true; These little fellows make great replacements for the First Order Code Cylinders. They require minimal modification for acceptable use (simply shave or paint the white top silver and remove the chalk), although you can go the other route for 501 approval. However, at less than $3 a piece, it was a miracle for Lieutenant Mitaka, who apparently needed 4 things right on the front of his uniform (that's why you're stuck with Kylo Ren's duties, right?). Similar chalk holders started at more than double the price. I'll admit it's probably because they're better chalk holders, but that particular aspect wasn't really important to me. Remove the whole piece very quickly. I think this will work fine as long as the chalk is long and sticks out a bit from the standard mount jaw, but when it reaches half the size and you have to push the chalk to the right length very carefully while holding the ejection plunger, it can get a little annoying. But hey. *Code cylinder*! One final note: they look pretty good for the First Order era versions, but there are better bases out there for the Empire era versions.
