I was happy to find these backs at Revain as I really needed an alternative to the traditional bow ties for a pair of earrings. The pins on these earrings are too short and the backing slips over the stem causing the earrings to "hang" on the earlobe. I was also afraid that they would just fall out. This type of backrest is flat and really helps to secure shorter racks. They also do a great job of attaching the stud earrings that I wear in earring jackets. They take a little getting used to, but I'm glad I bought them. A tip: feel for textured patches to figure out where to press. Hope that helps.
