Review on Dell S2721QS Ultra Thin DisplayPort Certified Pivot Adjustment, Curved, High Dynamic Range, Tilt Adjustment, HD by Jason Early

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good panel with 2 dead ports, poor HDR performance and terrible wake up time

The monitor itself is "good enough": full 4k (3840 x 2160) resolution, 60Hz refresh rate with variable refresh rate support via FreeSync, an IPS panel with basic HDR support to improve colors and dark scene performance and even the supposed pip mode. for (theoretical) operation with multiple inputs. Unfortunately the model I received has a dead HDMI port and a dead DP port. HDMI 1 on my model doesn't see a signal no matter what cable I use, neither does the DisplayPort connection. While it's technically fine since I have an HDMI port to use, it sucks that Dell's quality assurance managed to sneak this. HDR performance is terrible too, I can barely see anything when I enable HDR and try to play games or watch HDR-enabled content. This model also takes about 10 seconds to wake up from sleep mode when the battery saver mode is disabled (it took even longer when the feature is enabled). Avoid this monitor and get something else
