Review on Enhanced Resolution Preamplifier - Micca OriGen G2 by Jennifer Wible

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Plugged in and still can't put the headphones down

This is a great little amp/DAC. This is my first step beyond using the built-in audio on my PC or mobile phone. It certainly helps increase the volume of what I'm hearing, which is a welcome change. I use Monolith M560 and it's great. Although I don't have a critical analytical ear, sonically I just seem to bring everything up; The mids are a bit more than the bass, the highs a bit more, but that's not bad. works out of the box with Windows 10; I originally used an optical cable to power a phone charger, didn't get as much power but worked. I then just used it with USB and it was instantly recognized and working without me having to install anything! Plus, it really feels like quality; Build quality is top-notch, and with a large volume knob, it just makes you feel like a boss. Then I used an OTG cable and connected my Samsung Galaxy S8 and that's where the magic really happened. My computer doesn't seem all that bad as I found out, but the phone just sucks at the moment compared to what the G2 was able to push out of the phone when plugged in. I have a 5V, 2 amp power supply. by mail, but I firmly believe that everything will be fine in any case. Again, just to reiterate - I just used an optical cable and phone charger and it worked with no issues. So if you have a spare and don't want to pay $6 this is an adapter that will work but I don't think it's getting enough juice to be honest. hp I bought it based on Zeos from Z Reviews on YouTube, I waited and it came out of the blue (because I was about to get OriGen+) and as soon as I heard it worked better with Windows 10 but that's it the same quality as me and I have no problem with this purchase. Thanks Zeos (if you see it)
