Nit-Noid review: Top-notch mouse that might not be for everyone

Basics I had a Rival 310 in early January Bought. My G403 lost some tactility, and R310 tested almost all fields. 3360 sensor option, Omron 50m switch, RGB and safe form. I used it for 6 days before writing this review. My thoughts on Nit-Noidy are as follows. Pros: The mouse is very light but feels well made and not empty. Regardless of the type of grip, the mouse is balanced in the hand, there are no problems with a "heavy ass". Clicks all around are nice. The resistance is significantly higher than the G403, but lower than the Huano. The side buttons are some of the best I've used - average resistance and tactility with no noticeable travel etc. I've rated the middle click as one of the easiest to press, on some mice the middle click is so heavy that it becomes unusable practically eliminated. Some people say the scroll wheel feels cheap, but I disagree. It doesn't rattle or wobble, and the tactile feel is excellent and the resistance is very light - meaning it's good for both gaming and web browsing. One of my favorite aspects of the mouse compared to the G403 is the thin rib lugs on the sides of the scroll wheel. I tend to keep my fingers close to the scroll wheel, and something about that protrusion feels right. The texture of the plastic on the mouse is good, it feels like a mouse, but it doesn't feel "premium" like some Corsair products. The sensor is excellent as expected, I just wish it was placed a little further forward. The separation distance is small. The shape is very safe and comfortable, especially for the palms. This also works well for fingertips and claws, but only if the hands are larger. Last but not least, the software is EXCELLENT. I used to think Logitech was the gold standard, now I'm thinking Steelseries. Weighing in at around 270MB, the Logitech G software is clean, functional, and lightweight. The Steelseries software was just a 108MB download and is even more intuitive than Logitech's offerings on the G403, with more features. One thing the R310 lacks like many Logitech mice is sensor surface customization, but I never missed it. Medium: The cord is the least stiff I've tried and kinks were very easy to get rid of. However, the rubber on the cable is grippier than most when in contact with soft mouse pads. (Not a problem with a decent bungee.) The basic clicks are tactile, but not light enough to be considered "MMO spam" in my opinion. The DPI button is offset to the side, but too far from scrolling to be used for time-sensitive functions. The mouse has everything you need and nothing more. However, I would like to see an equivalent "G-Shift" option in the software to add more possible macro functions. The mouse isn't quite as powerful as the G502 with all the bells and whistles, but still ok. Cons: There is a thin mush on the silicone sides that deviates a bit. They don't feel good despite the beautiful pattern. They can retain some heat and aren't great for traction when/if the surface gets wet. I think the choice is right for what it's intended for and it SHOULD be pretty solid, but I'm not 100% sure. I would have liked the same textured plastic on the sides as above. My example had a slight left click before hitting, with some difference in click sound and feel between the left and right clicks. My developed copy also developed a slight hit on the rear thumb button after a few days. The mouse is very long but wider and relatively low compared to the G403. If you have medium or small sized hands, touching the mouse with your fingertips will either push the main buttons towards the back of the mouse (meaning harder clicks), or you'll constantly bump the end of the mouse into your palm when you look down/ shoot in game. For me, using the claw grip meant reducing the surface area of my thumb touching the mouse, making it less manageable. My gaming performance was still very good, but the mouse is definitely palm-sized and/or big-handed. To me, it felt like a lot of mouse was wasted before scrolling and behind the thumb, and I even ended up clicking the back of the scroll wheel. If the mouse kept its basic shape but was shorter, it would be a more versatile option for more people, but might sacrifice the cool factor for tall/palm types. Verdict: Despite the questionable choice of silicone, the mouse is overall fantastic and works like a premium option in my opinion. The software is probably the best I've seen. This is a simple recommendation for any grip style, but with the caveat that your hand should ideally be 18.5cm in length. Because of the many good features of this mouse, the inappropriate size bothers me :( Nit-Noid Note: B+
