If you have a situation where there is not enough space, this may be the solution for you. I needed a few more inches of free space under my desk for my PC and a few other things. This gave me the necessary permission. The installation sucked, but that's probably just me. I don't like working on the ground floor where most of the retail stores are. It took me about 45 minutes to install. I just had to enlarge the hole where the old box was, remove the old box and reconnect the sockets in this new box. In hindsight, maybe I should have left a little more wire when I first installed the sockets; it would make everything easier. Also, make sure your outlet fits into the back box. In my case it was cheaper to buy a new plate to fit my outlets than to replace the outlets. I have traditional duplex outlets, not the more modern rectangular type that the supplied plate is designed for.
