Review on Richards Homewares Commercial Garment Rack Chrome by Bennie Wilks

So far, so good! Holds up over the weekend with dance performances and lots of disassembly and reassembly

My wife wanted our daughters solo dance costumes to be kept here. She was looking for something inexpensive, but it would work really well if actively used 2-3 weekends a year. We didn't read the reviews before purchasing and when I checked after it arrived I told her that maybe we should just send it back. So far I'm glad we didn't as it worked very well. We bought it on October 14th but wanted to use it before I test it. First, let's talk about assembly. She unboxed it and fully assembled it in about 5 minutes. We didn't have any issues with how the cylinders packed into each other, they just slipped out. She has to disassemble and reassemble it before and after weekend rehearsals and performances, and she says it's been very easy each time. Absolutely no complaints about the assembly. Durability seems to be the most debated factor on this topic. We've just wrapped up our first weekend of heavy use and it's been great. We haven't had any problems with broken parts, even though the product has been disassembled and reassembled many times. I will say that the weak link in this product is the plastic clamps that allow you to adjust the height of the steering wheel and are then responsible for keeping the steering wheel at that height. If/when this item breaks, it will most likely be one of these collars. But so far ours has gotten the job done with no sign of stripping or breaking. We loved that each daughter had her own side of the frame and that it could be adjusted up/down as needed. And while this item definitely doesn't have a solid construction, it still looks good and holds up well to our actual use. We don't load the rack heavily. Dance costumes tend to be lightweight, and although the bar is packed, we don't put heavy weights on the plastic collars. So, if you are looking for a cheap adjustable clothes rack, then I recommend it without hesitation. I didn't expect it to withstand high loads, but for its light weight, even with frequent use, it was a good buy for us.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
