Revainrating 4 out of 5

All is well! (.after a struggle.)

UPDATE: Well I struggled for a few more hours and it finally worked. I don't know what the problem is. There were also some other configuration changes (installed an NVMe drive and replaced the HDD with an SSD, but none of these changes should have made much of an impact). Maybe a dirty contact? I've tried swapping modules a few times, whatever that might do, and haven't been able to get an answer. In the end, I decided to forget about upgrading RAM, just use what's currently in the system and do a clean install of Win10 (like I planned to do from the start). After that I thought I'd try again with RAM and Viola! BIOS sees it as Windows. *shrugs* Original Rating (Knee Bounce): Tried to install them in Asus ROG G752VM but computer won't boot with modules installed. I can't even access the BIOS - all I get is a black screen on power up. high. I found a thread on the ROG forums where another user installed one of the larger G.SKILL modules in another G752 sub-model, so I think (hope) I just have a bad set. has been used exclusively with G.SKILL RAM for almost the last decade in all my PC/Laptop builds and upgrades so this really surprised me. I will try to replace the same set and hope for the best.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
