I bought these sheets in September and put off writing a review until they "seated". First impression was that they were soft. I washed them in cold water and air dried them. They seem so light that they don't stand up for anything. But when you fold them, they are heavy. Oddly enough, they're whisper quiet on a bead but heavy when crumpled or folded. Yes, they shed. You'll find a lot of lint in the lint filter after the first few washes, but it comes off and the sheets stay the same. Don't be afraid to gather up the villi, they will still be soft with no clumps or coils. I've checked for wear or thinning but haven't seen any to date. You think they're so damn soft they won't hold up in any way, but they do. My SO He travels a lot and is therefore very critical of the sheets. He "demanded" me to order another set because when we use a $300/$1000 bedding set I bought years ago (no, they don't all get softer after washing) it feels like hotel sheets. Another set is now in my cart and I will donate or recycle expensive sets that none of us like. I would recommend these sheets to anyone who wants a reasonably priced, high quality, and most importantly, soft sheet set.
