You're killing me Smalls. Difficult to rate. On the one hand, it's small, metal, well built, and inexpensive. On the other hand, it's not as fast as it seems. I am testing storage devices on my MacBook Pro using the Blackmagic Design Disk Speed Test. Often these unbranded devices will report numbers all over the place and all you can do is make an educated guess about the average speed because you'll get a different result each time. This is a rare device, yes it has numbers all over it but they are very consistent! Each time the test starts with a write speed spike of nearly 60MB/s, it drops to an *average* (and pathetic) 16MB/s by the end of the 1GB write, giving them some sort of caching ability must for that. . it appears faster for short and quick shots, but not so good for large ones. The READ values correspond to a respectable 100 MB/s. Due to the below average write speed (for USB 3.0 devices) I'm tempted to give this one only 2 stars, but due to the good price, quality case and fast speed for short writes I'll give it a 3.5, but due to its deceptive nature I round statements about speed down, not up.
