I'm not a techie at all. I bought it because I sometimes work from home and wanted to take a second screen with me. It's very portable, very light, and the pouch that comes with it seems enough to protect it in a backpack for normal, non-violent transport. Overall it does a good job. I gave it 4 stars because sometimes it does that weird "flashing" when a line goes across the screen and because I have to adjust the brightness every time I turn it on. I wish it had a way to save its settings so I don't have to fiddle with it all the time. For the price, this is a decent monitor, but that notch on the line is driving me nuts. I will also say that since I use a Mac, I also use an adapter for any ports I need. The cables supplied with this device do NOT connect to this external port. Because of this, I need to dedicate one of my Mac ports to a patch cord so that there is a direct connection between the display and the machine. This can make a big difference if you have a machine that doesn't have 2 ports (I could be wrong too, but all my other hardware works fine with the external port, including Bluetooth for keyboard/mouse and charging). cable, oooooo)
