I've used this twice in the shop, the first time on the very first day I brought the tool in. This tool is better suited for ball joints that you are not replacing and when other pullers fail for some reason. While it's not ideal for tie rods. Either Shankly's tool doesn't open wide enough, or simply put, a hammer breaks the thrust from its taper much quicker. I prefer swing arm pullers for this job. The great thing about this tool is that it includes a handle and the drive bolt is tuned to effectively make the tool a low profile tool. Again, this is one of the reasons why this tool is needed. Well done effective where to apply and I've used it twice now and only had it for a couple of weeks. The ball joints popped out quickly with just a few turns. The only thing that bothers me is the drive screw. It is reduced to a thin diameter. I don't think he can take much force. But then again, it withstood the force I put on it, which was a wonderful surprise to me. But let's see.
