This item is great. Before this one I have another massage cushion that I have used very often. It has four kneading balls compared to Shiatsu which has 8. The netting over the clay balls was starting to wear out, so I decided to find a replacement. My original pillow was good for my back, but it didn't have the concave shape needed for the contours of my neck, and my neck really needed some attention (no pun intended). Shiatsu really gets into the tissues of my neck. without feeling much discomfort. It also helps a lot that it comes with its own lid to reduce the intensity. Plus, it was a few dollars cheaper than my original massage pad. It goes really deep, and you can feel it moving knotty, taut muscles from side to side to release tension. My original massage pad never did this, it would rather soften the bone before relieving deep muscle tissue. I can definitely recommend Shiatsu.
