Review on ๐Ÿงฝ O-Cedar Pro Scrub Roller Mop Refill - Highly Effective and Durable Cleaning Tool by Jake Winningham

The O Cedar replacement nozzle is poorly designed unlike the old Vileda

I have had the Vileda "Roll-O-Matic" mop for six years now. I think during that time I had to replace the original mop head once. The Vileda roller wringing system worked really well and did a great job of squeezing out as much dirty water as possible. In addition, the ribbed structure of the mop head is excellent at loosening the dirt my dogs find on the kitchen floor. Vileda replacement mops were very durable and lasted many years without needing to be replaced. Unfortunately, it looks like O Cedar is now producing an inferior version of the old Vileda design. A google search for "Vileda Pro Scrub Mop Refill" brings up this O Cedar replacement filler and there doesn't seem to be a source for original Vileda replacement fillers anymore. I bought one of these O Cedar replacement nibs and after struggling to fit the O Cedar replacement nib in my old Vileda pen I gave up. I've tried using a screwdriver, pliers, etc. but the problem seems to be the shape of the rod itself. The replacement pen from Vileda had a metal rod about 3/4 inch deep that slipped between the ribbed rollers and allowed the replacement pen's tab to hook onto a J-hook on the mop handle. The new replaceable filler is much flatter and it seems almost impossible to get it on the hook. Also, the metal loop where the hook is inserted is much smaller and flatter on the new rod. (For comparison, see the photo I have posted). After a few tries, the ribbed rollers gnawed through most of the new replacement pad's spongy material, and I wouldn't be surprised if that explains why so many users have seen their new mop heads crumble and fall apart. The new replacement nozzle fits the newer mop handle but I don't see why it was necessary to change the design just enough to have everyone buy a brand new mop. Based on the many negative reviews of the new system, it doesn't work very well anyway. Very disappointing.
