Our baby, not yet 6 months old, loves these spoons. With this spoon she was able to eat by herself from the very first time. We do modified self-weaning. First we introduced her to the bare spoon and let her play with it and get a really good feel for it. She immediately put the bowl to her teeth with the spoon in her mouth! The shape of the spoons is great, easy to grab with tiny grooves that make them less slippery (she still drops them a lot, but oh well). Our friend's baby (7 months old) came to visit and he fed it straight away. You will buy it too! Our doctor said that eating with a spoon is good for the child's hand-eye coordination and motor development. I wish it was medical grade silicone, not food grade, but I haven't actually seen that on the market so can't deduct a star for that. The bowl of the spoon is perfect for wiping baby's chin while feeding.
