This UV lamp also produces a significant amount of ozone which I admit I didn't research thoroughly before purchasing - I just wanted to kill mold under the sink. I live in a small house around 1K SF. I used this under the bathroom sink, turned on the bathroom fan and turned on the light for an hour. The whole house smelled of ozone (which, if you don't know, can smell good, like a fresh breeze outside), but ozone is bad for all living things. The description warns people to "air the room or wait 3-12 hours". and it says it has some kind of EPA approval, so be careful if you have lung or breathing problems. Or leave home and take your pets with you for 12 hours after use, that is also a choice. Don't lose the remote either - this unit doesn't have a switch on the base - it won't work without the remote. I attached velcro to the device and remote control to try and hold them together. It would be better if the base had a built-in storage space for the remote control. Also, for security reasons (I assume) you can't run this continuously, it's 15, 30, or 60 minutes. or stop is the only choice.
