Review on Wet Drain Hose Adapter by RIDGID by Wayne Girard

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Who even developed the need for an adapter?

So it does the main job of emptying the tank with a garden hose. It is NOT completely flush with the bottom of the Ridgid wet and dry vacuum tank so I have to tilt the tank to basically empty the tank and then I have to drain the tank to drain the residue that didn't go in. to the drain hole. My question is: why design and build a wet/dry vac with a 2" threaded drain or so, but not make an additional drain hose that fits a 2" threaded drain? The ONLY reason to make a large 2" hole and then also an adapter to connect to a 5/8" garden hose is so you can sell drain adapters from 2 to 5/8" that will give you a much smaller one Offer drain diameters that can't cope with the vacuum's ability to fill the tank. I had to drain the water from a broken washing machine. The vacuum can fill its 5 gallon tank in about 5-10 seconds! You then have to wait a few minutes for the small diameter garden hose drain to drain the tank allowing you to suck up another 5 gallons of water in 5 seconds before waiting another 5 minutes for the tank to drain through the small adapter. If Ridgid or someone else made a 10-12 foot threaded hose for a 2" drain hole, if the tank was draining more through the hose than one, the vacuum tank might not even fill up and stop sucking water into the tank Garden. hose, and I had to use my "shortest" 25 foot garden hose that ran around the house and through the garage because it was too big to drain water from the tank into a drain hole in the ground about 10 feet long. from the washing machine where I used the vacuum cleaner. Maybe that's handy for some people, but I'd rather have a threaded hose that fits the size of the drain than a much smaller hose adapter - or just make a threaded drain to fit a garden hose and get rid of the adapter average person! Working on making adapters What was I thinking?
