I bought these for my daughter to wear with her prom dress because she can't walk and can't wear all the heels and stuff. Ballet shoes are not based on standard shoe sizes. You should measure your feet! I measured her foot (which was just a hair under 9 and 1/4 inches but a hair over 9 and 1/8 inches) and ordered according to the size chart (size 7) and they fit perfectly and are really much nicer than on the picture (which doesn't make them fair). The price is much cheaper than going to a dance supply store without sacrificing quality. I have danced and would like to respond to these posters by commenting that they end. Ballet shoes tend to be a little tighter on the body; This is the objective function for all dance shoes to stay in place and out of the way of the dancer. Unless you are a dancer and do not want a snug fit, I would suggest measuring your own foot (heel to toe) before ordering and ordering the next half size up. Otherwise just tighten with the support hose and nothing thicker.
