I sew clothes and often have to iron a seam between stitches. I used to have an ironing board on my countertop and had to get up and move the fabric around every time. It's very convenient to put it next to the machine and just turn it around when you need to iron it. I enjoyed using it; I can't tell you the last time I used my ironing board. This cushion does not protect the table I am ironing on, nor does it protect the ironing board on the countertop. I didn't notice any deformation or other damage, but you should definitely be aware of it. I would recommend this product to anyone who sews. Also, it takes up much less space than an ironing board. For those who only iron finished clothes, I'm not sure if this is any more convenient than a standard ironing board.
