The mat is very soft and cushioned, like those expensive korean baby play mats. The size was noted so I knew how big it was, but the medium sized mat still seems a bit small for its price. Quality wise, the product seems strobg and well made, definitely not one of those cheaper mats that rip through easily and have the top plastic layers peel off after rigorous use. The mat is pretty heavy too, so you know it's not filled like the cheap sponge-filled mats.I was messaged by the seller regarding the strong chemical smell before I received the item. It definitely has a strong, headache-producing chemical smell to it when first opened. I moved my air purifer right next to the mat, which helped me realized just how amazing my air purifer is, as the smell lessened about 80-90%.The mat does have very strong creases throughout, even though it was rolled up in the package, but I'm sure (hope) it will return to its form within a few hours/days.I ended up purchasing this one because of the design and good reviews, as most of the mats have very babyish designs, but this one allows me to flip it around to a simple, modern design. Design wise, the item is exactly as pictured.The only thing that annoyed me was the packaging/shipment, the item arrived in a totally beat up box with both ends completely open and exposed, and then it looks like someone just tried to tape over the openings very poorly to keep the item from falling out.Because the ends were open, dirt and debris got on to the ends of the mat, not a gigantic big deal, BUT it's just frustrating when I'm purchasing something that's not cheap and it looks like it's been prepared and handled very poorly. I don't know if it's the company or usps, but on top of the poor packaging, I did see the usps mailman literally chuck the item onto my deck. really, come on.Overall, considering the size, quality, and price, it's alright, a bit too pricey, but I'll see how well it holds up and update. But considering the price and size, I think I might just purchase the company baby care's play mat in the future.
