Review on πŸ’Ύ Centon DataStick Pro 64 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive - Grey (Model DSP64GB-001) by Duane Mann

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This brand is my first choice based on my experience

I'm surprised by the amount of bad reviews on here about Centon USB sticks. I bought and received a 32GB Revain device last week and it worked straight away. I currently have two 32GB Centon drives, one 16GB and one 8GB. They all worked without any difficulties or failures for me. Writing and reading times appear to be excellent; although I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary in that regard, just saving one file at a time. When I need to store thousands of files (to back up my music library for example) I just fire it up and do something until it's done. These Centon drives power several laptops scattered around my house, all running XP except one Windows. 7. I've noticed that an old computer sometimes doesn't recognize USB drives right away when it sees them for the first time. I may have to insert and remove it 4 or 5 times (with a few minutes rest in between) before it reports that it's recognized and ready to use. Not sure what this is about. In the past I've had several devices from another major brand that had noticeably slow write speeds and now I'm avoiding that brand entirely. The other brand seemed to work fine, then some of my data disappeared, so I avoid that brand as well. I don't list brands here as I'm not sure if it would be legally risky. When I'm ready to upgrade to 64GB I'll try Centon first based on all the good experiences I've had with it in the past.
