This GPX CD player works well; highly recommended. BATTERY NOTE: This requires two 1.5V AA batteries (3V total). I would recommend using Akaline batteries. NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries don't work very well, if at all. This is probably because NiMH batteries are actually 1.2 volts each (only 2.4 volts, not 3). This is because they use a different chemical composition. This CD player appears to be voltage level sensitive, which isn't too uncommon as some electronics only require the full 3 volts. The rest of the player works very well.
