Like many of you, I'm sure I didn't want to spend a lot of money on my first airbrush . My first airbrush was an Awata Neo (from Hobby Lobby). Neo is a great airbrush and great value. However, due to the cheaper construction, the trigger pull is less constant. It gets pretty frustrating when you try to learn the basics. It gets particularly annoying when your skills exceed the capabilities of an airbrush. I don't regret buying the Neo at all (I use it as a backup and for spraying polish) but the difference between the Neo and the Eclipse is obvious as soon as you take it out of the box. The weight, balance and finish are clearly excellent. When you pull the trigger for the first time, you know you're holding a quality tool in your hands. The experience is so consistent and so precise that you can even tell what color you're spraying (each pigment goes through the needle slightly differently); it is SO delicate. I highly recommend Awata Eclipse. My detailed airbrushing jumped two levels with this brush in my hand.
