Instead of spending a fortune on a new mattress I decided to try a mattress pad for a little extra softness. At 3 inches you definitely get more padding. But that's all the benefits of this mattress topper. The central air conditioning keeps the house at 76 degrees, perfect for a good night's sleep with a light sheet, at least for me. No longer! With this topper I wake up wet when trying to sleep under any duvet. Last night I tried sleeping without a topper. Every part of my body that touched the topper was sweaty. Add that the side rises when you lie down and then you have to move the pad every time you make your bed (even if it's under a deep pocket sheet lined with the mattress), this is it cooling memory foam gel mattress topper really not worth the hassle.
