I used Mac book air for leisure, for myself I decided to take the most budget pro version for 13, with 128GB, without the Touch Bar. The choice was simple. From 1998 to 2022 everything was on Microsoft. 3-4 years and with moderate use, the miracle of technology turns into a pumpkin. Familiar macs, “open beer for them” and have had no performance problems for 5 years. 128 or 256? Do you need to carry a lot of junk with you? Throw memories in the form of a photo or video on your hard drive and let them lie quietly and safely in the closet at home. Diagonal 13 inches? Surfing and watching your favorite TV shows is enough, writing essays and digging into monosyllabic tables too. Regular screen or retina? Retina, it’s too juicy and beautiful, so it’s the sunset of 2022. The difference in the screen is felt even if you watch a video from YouTube. touch bar? cool little thing, but minus battery life, plus cost. For me, it’s not necessary, if in doubt, go to any store and poke. I am a former photographer, I think it will be enough to drive jpeg and mount short videos from a trip to Crimea. As for the Magic Mouse, I’m not completely used to it, I advise you not to buy it right away, the touchpad on Apple is a different world, it’s big, convenient and smart, you can forget about the mouse for ordinary tasks (at work there are three different dell laptops with different diagonals, without a mouse you feel bonfire, at Apple you forget about it). I described my requirements, if you need more serious performance tasks or serious work with photo and video, close this tab, you need either an iMac with a large screen and NOT in the minimum configuration, or pro 15 in the mid-top. I hope it was useful, my opinion, I don’t impose it on you, but for each thing there is a use, don’t expect miracles, create them. All good.
