Despite some reviews saying it rotates the wrong way for certain applications I took a chance at the low price. I'm glad I did. For my 1959 Nutone 880 I had to change both the mounting orientation and direction. Changing the mounting direction (top to bottom) was easy, just unscrew the two screws and install on the opposite side. Believe it or not, the change of direction was easy too. Just take out the stator (there are a few magnets and copper windings inside) and flip it! I will explain below. Please see the photos accompanying this review.1. Remove the two screws holding the motor. This allows everything to slide apart.2. Note the notch where the cable exits. All you have to do is replicate a similar notch in the same place on the opposite half of the case. This essentially installs the stator upside down where it originally was. This can be done with a hacksaw or large scissors.3. Assemble the motor so that the cable exits through the new groove.4. If the motor shaft does not turn freely when everything is assembled, give the motor shaft a firm pull in all directions to reinstall the self-aligning bearings. Everything I mentioned in this review can be done for free, so it's still a good deal. It works great for me!
