I bought this drive because I needed a new one because my old one was flooded. 4TB was perfect! I also have an old Macbook Air with USB-A ports and a newer Macbook Air with USB-C. When I saw that this drive came with an adapter I was sold out! I didn't realize how SLOW it was until I plugged in the drive with the adapter attached. I ran some tests with both computers and the drive with and without the adapter and found that using the adapter slows the drive down by 3x. For example, what would take 5 minutes to transfer data with my old external hard drive with a dedicated USB-A port takes 15 minutes with this drive. Disappointing. If you're just using it as a USB-C drive with no adapter, then you're fine (though not faster than the old USB-A drive).
