When my wife said she wanted shutters for the window I thought ok I'll do that. Pretty easy project. I am a very experienced carpenter and make furniture and much more. However, she wanted the shutters to have blinds. I had never made blinds before, so I tried to convince her to choose a different style. She wanted blinds. I didn't want to get a fixture for just one set of blinds so I saw them and ordered them. They are very well done. They are made exactly how I want them to be. They are made out of pine and if I had to make them I would use rainforest wood like jatoba or sapele to better withstand the weather. I'm not a fan of conifers. Perfect makeup - I used an oil-based semi-gloss. And now my wife wants a pair for another window. I may still need this contraption.
