It worked. It comes with instructions suggesting you connect it to the manifold outlet on the low pressure side. On my distributor (Harbor Freight) I had to connect it to the middle hose because the high and low pressure hoses have smaller fittings for some reason. It still worked fine, I just had to make sure the valve was pointing up during intake and oil/dye injection to get fluids into the manifold. The valve held an airtight seal, which was good for the center tap as I could use this valve for vacuum testing instead of separate valves on the high/low side. The only other problem I had was opening it. Even if you tighten it lightly, you must have very strong hands because the O-ring fixes it very well. When I first got it I had to use two strap wrenches to open it.
