The flow knob didn't work at all. When I removed the easily disassembled front panel, I found that the rotary knob is nothing more than a rotating "bolt" with two holes that rotate to open or close. I ended up paying for a ball valve that would fit in the center hose to control the very slow flow, which I hoped the unit's own control valve would handle. It generally works well, but turning this knob does absolutely nothing, and a jet of water flows out of the hose about 1/4 the diameter in any position. UPDATE: It has been in use for over a week and this pump has not failed. me with his escapades. can be quiet in its operation for maybe 2 hours and then just starts making noise with a kind of "buzzing" vibration. Unplug it and then plug it back in and it either has no effect or actually goes silent again for varying periods of time. If you are near this pump, you can find another pump that works with less noise. funny that there is nothing that should be making this noise as there is no scale in the circulating water and activated carbon is constantly being filtered. I just bought 4 ounces. Tube Revain sells food grade pump lube for drinking water in hopes it will stop the noise.
