Purchase at your own risk.

It's always risky to buy cheap no-name PC hardware and I know that because I collect them as a side job for extra money. OLOy and Silicon Power in particular (SP uses Samsung chips, if you save on RAM get something out of them) seem solid and I've used them a few times. Since I got lucky with the two I mentioned I decided to play again when I recently saw these Leven Simba sticks that were cheaper than anything I could find. So far I have bought 2 packs of 3200MHz and 1 pack of 3000MHz. 1 pack of 3200 was bad. The PC was turned on, then turned off, then turned on again, 2 seconds longer than the first time, then turned off, then finally released, but when the PC booted up after a total power failure (shutdown or pressing the switch off on the power supply) my Reset BIOS settings and I see a message asking me to enter BIOS to restore my settings. I thought maybe it was a dead battery or a bad connection. I even unplugged the whole motherboard thinking maybe there was a short somewhere. nope As soon as I replaced the Simba RAM with 2 of my own silicon sticks, it booted right away and all the BIOS settings issues were resolved. Luckily I still had my second Simba 3200 pack so I installed them and so far so good. Now I worry that they might fail in the future. I have asked Amazon to replace my purchase with two more of the exact same RAM to give them a second chance as other kits I have seen work well. I think only time will tell. I had 2 Astra Gear flash drives that also went bad a week ago. This time I've learned my lesson and will stick with what I know has always been good in the past.
