First of all, I have to commend it: I've tried about 12 trackball mice in the last year and tried to find one I like. It was almost! Nearly. Good: This is the most comfortable mouse I've ever used. The angle is the perfect natural resting position for my hand. The ergonomics could not have been worked out better. The features are amazing, the ball release button is very handy and the wheel scroll/tilt works great. I would like the dpi button to be on top, but that's a minor inconvenience. Bad: - The trackball is TERRIBLE! It works great when you're moving fast, but the slower you move the stickier it gets, making it almost impossible to pinpoint fine detail. I've tried it with all dpi settings, no matter what you do it gets stuck and jumps when you try to move slowly. Compared to similar trackball mice, this one doesn't have the smooth rollers that others have and I find this to be a serious detriment to the ball's function. It doesn't glide smoothly at slower speeds, freezes and then twitches, causing you to miss your on-screen mark. Small "x" buttons in file managers (Explorer, Dolphin, etc.) and small text links are almost impossible to click quickly and take almost 20 seconds to navigate. Graphic design is not possible with this problem. With a mouse this expensive, you'd think they'd put a little more into ball functionality and a little less into adding extra buttons. A big disappointment for an otherwise amazing mouse. Added start for form and function but can't put more than 2 (perhaps the most important feature) due to trackball issues. UPDATE: I called Kensington Tech Support. Terrible experience. Another star deducted from this rating because the call went like this: I detailed my problem with the trackball having a lot of friction and getting stuck when moving slowly. The "Tech Support" guy advised me to download the Kensington software, update my drivers and stop using Linux that has nothing to do with the physical trackball function. When I explained a second time that I had an issue with the PHYSICAL friction of the ball rolling, he simply told me to return it. No replacement offer, no further help. Just give it back sir. OK. i will return it
