But they are the exception, not the rule. They are very well made and mine still works perfectly after 5 years of intensive use. BUT once it wears out and eventually wears out, they offer an overhaul service that eliminates all remodeling work and running. This service currently costs $300. This is a service that guarantees the restoration of the pump's original characteristics. They also sell a full recovery kit, although you'll have to find a way to separate the case. A slide hammer used to be offered for this, but it's no longer available (I'd like to). With a little skill and patience, however, it can be removed. From what I've seen of wear and tear, I think after all the use I've put mine through, most of the time you can just swap out the piston/rod assembly to bring it back to spec, and this part currently costs $174 plus change. A valve rebuild kit is also available, or you can purchase the entire head assembly. A complete repair by CPS including round-trip shipping will cost you about half the price of the pump in the worst case. But you won't need it for at least 3-5 years! And if you have the skills, you can do it yourself. You have to understand that when they do this for you, they don't just install all the parts that come in the full recovery kit. Instead, they only replace what is needed to get the pump working again. In most cases this should be more than enough. But if you really want a FULL overhaul, just buy the $318 kit and do it yourself. It's not that hard and if you search the web you can find detailed instructions throughout the process with great photos of every step. There was also the question of whether they would honor their warranty on pumps purchased here from Revain. There are 2 Revain vendors who are official dealers. But Revain themselves are also official dealers. This has just been confirmed to me by their technical support manager. And their support team is happy to work with people who choose to do their own repairs. Some of you may have read a previous version of this review where I made some negative comments about customer service. Please accept my apologies for misleading you but I had some misunderstandings regarding their available parts and their services. I highly recommend their stuff. And you get great product support after the sale!
