Review on Converter DROK Transformer Regulator Stabilizer by Jason Dahlkemper

This is for the LM2596 DC buck converter with LED indicator. Not for adjustable power device. I bought this glow plug control unit on an old Cox glow plug engine that I was given as a gift. I am using a 12V 5Ah SLA battery and would like to use it at 1.5V to light a glow element. I found that at 1.5V it could only output about 1.75A, but I was able to increase the voltage until I got 2.5-3A through the bulb and everything worked fine. The voltage display I calibrated read about 2.8V. I contacted DROK to inquire about this rating and they confirmed that you cannot get the full 3A rating at this low voltage . I don't mind a higher voltage as I only need a certain amount of current to fire the glow plug. But I thought I'd leave this information in case it helps anyone else. A knowledgeable electrician might have expected such a feat, but it came as a surprise to me. The product works well for me, looks well put together and DROK customer support was prompt and knowledgeable. No complaints.
