I write truthfully because I don't claim to be completely unbiased. Bypassing surge protectors and plugging both devices directly into network ports, I connected them both as directed. Everything functions and there is a signal. The main device (optical modem) confidently transmits more than 50mb through WiFi. Low speed is being provided via the distant room's repeater. conducted two tests with a maximum 4MB speed in a single day. Although there is a signal, it is frustrating that it is slow. There might be a speed cap on the optical modem on that port, or there could be a wiring issue. Because I don't live close to the people for whom I installed it, I can't get into the specifics.
