Review on ๐Ÿ˜ Green Elephant Ceramic Sharpening Rod: Light, Durable 11-Inch Honing Rod for Pro Chefs & Home Cooks by Ben Titchenell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works very well for both European and Japanese knives

It has been about 3 months since I bought the Green Elephant ceramic stick to use with both my German and Japanese kitchen knives. I also have other ceramic sticks like Mac Black and Messermeister. Both products are good, but for some reason Green Elephant allowed me to use kitchen knives (especially Japanese ones) better than the other two. I believe all three blades are around 1200 grit, but perhaps Green Elephant is a harder ceramic and more effective on Japanese knives. The sharpness that you can achieve in relatively few movements is sufficient for most cutting tasks in the kitchen. For knife lovers who demand "razor sharpness", it can of course be further refined with water stones with a high grain size. So this is an amazing product and a great time saver. I don't know how they came up with the name "Green Elephant" but don't let that put you off buying this amazing rod!

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Some little things
