I have been using ratchet straps on my cargo trailer for many years. I love them in general, except for one thing: the S hooks always fall off my strings when I try to tighten them. It may sound trivial, but it's a real pain in the ass and seems to happen 90% of the time. I need to tighten the straps to keep them from falling off the tie down straps while trying to thread the strap through the ratchet handle. Sounds easy, but it is not. Now that I have these spring loaded S hooks, that problem has become a thing of the past and they have become my new take on straps. The manufacturer of these belts has shipped several items along with the belts that I have never seen with a belt. Kit like a carry case, 4 soft loops that can be used to avoid scratching surfaces such as furniture and pre-cut Velcro straps to tie the straps when not in use. They even included a handle on the belt box so it can be used to carry the belts. Impressive and thoughtful. Another nice feature is that they have soft ratchet handles. Not required but a nice touch. If I have one complaint about these straps, it's that the nylon webbing feels just a tad thinner than any of my other straps. They are listed with a breaking strength of 1823 pounds. but I'm a bit skeptical about this rating, but I'll never use a type strength even close to this one, so I have to take her word for it. Overall I'm very happy with it, if only because the S hooks close and no longer fall off my strings. If you're facing the same problem as me, then this is your ticket to making life a little easier.
