I chose a 6 1/2 after returning a 7 1/2 which was too big. They usually wear a size 7 1/ 2 to 8. I had to cut the strap at the shoe store because it was too long. But I don't have a high rise building. It was a very smart decision and they look amazing. The first night I danced in them they did rubbed my big toes a bit but my heels didn't rub all over the place I would recommend them so far... But I've only danced in them once.
