I've had two surgeries - cervical and lower spine - with a persistent herniated disc that may need surgery. I have severe pain in my neck and back. This pillow is the only one I can sleep on. I bought one first but had to use it for neck and back pain whichever was worse that night. I have two of these now. It seems like a very simple thing, but somehow it works! I'm now going back to my normal daily exercises with these two rollers to relieve the pain. I also roller skate. I use them on long flights to support my back.
