Overall a thermometer with lots of nice features at a great price. with a small problem. PROS: Nice big easy to read display; The backlight proved to be a useful feature than I expected. CONS: There is no accurate temperature reading, which can be an important feature for some people considering meat thermometers. I tested the thermometer on the chicken first, at one point my other thermometers showed 160 degrees Fahrenheit and the Trofoty 200 degrees Fahrenheit (!), for example a 6 degree variation. In cooking tests, however, the Trofoty didn't perform at the same level as other thermometers I've compared it to. I think I'll use my old and terribly slow but reasonably accurate digital meat thermometer for now. The search for a replacement continues.
