I have a 700 square foot attic that gets terribly hot in the summer. Over the years I have not been able to find an air conditioner that could effectively cool this space. I decided to try this DeLonghi portable air conditioner and so far it has worked very well. We had over 90 days and this air conditioner really cooled my very hot attic. details below. ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION The air conditioner is securely packed in a large cardboard box with foam inserts and sturdy cardboard frames in the right places. It took me a few minutes to remove all of the packaging. The wheels are pre-assembled and move the machine very easily and smoothly. The car is quite heavy so getting it to the 3rd floor of my house was not easy. Although this machine is heavier than my window units, it wasn't that much more difficult to move as the side handles are well positioned for a good and balanced grip. Attaching the hose and window parts is quick and intuitive. There is an extra part for a large window. My only gripe is that the window panel leaves a gap at the top that needs to be filled with insulation, but those are minor things. I installed the hose and window part in about 5 minutes. I wish the hose was a foot or two longer so I have a little more room to control the air conditioning. CONTROL The controls are intuitive and simple. The icons for the various functions make sense, and the buttons on the air conditioner are conveniently located for quick access. I was able to set it to the right mode and temperature very quickly. COOLING FUNCTION This air conditioner blows out a very strong and large amount of cold air. It cooled my very hot third floor attic from sweltering to 75 degrees in about 30 minutes. The top fan can be adjusted to blow cool air in any desired direction using the remote control's "swing" function. It works well. The only small problem here is that when you turn off the AC, the fan closes and you have to reset it again next time. But it only takes about 10 seconds. REMOTE CONTROL The remote control is well designed. The buttons are clearly labeled and work from any angle. Some functions are only available via the remote control, such as B. Timer and fan speed control. But like the controls on the unit itself, I found the options on the remote simple and intuitive. NOISE LEVEL The air conditioning is quieter than the windows I'm used to. It still makes that deep rumble we associate with air conditioning when the engine revs up to cool down. But I have no problem falling asleep to car noise. AIR PURIFIERI has tried the air purification function, which can be easily started with a simple button on the device itself or on the remote control. However, I have no real way to judge if it actually cleans the air. CONCLUSIONS This is a powerful portable air conditioner capable of cooling a very hot 700 square foot room. I recommend it.
