Review on GE Microwave Magnetron Diode WB27X10017 by Shawn Vennakota

Saved my oven and saved me at least $300

My microwave is working again! I have an 11 year old ZMC1095 GE Monogram built in microwave. The cabinet was custom made for this oven, so I really wanted to fix it instead of spending $400 on a new fitment that also didn't fit. Everything worked fine in the microwave except it didn't get hot. After digging around the internet and watching a few videos on YouTube, I decided to fix it. I first bought a $50 magnetron from another site, but it made a loud buzzing sound when installing. I think it's not compatible with my microwave model despite having the same part number. This magnetron worked great. Installation wasn't difficult at all, but I was certainly afraid of electrocution with all the warnings that the capacitor contains high voltage. I discharged the capacitor with insulated-handled pliers as shown in some videos, but I also wore gloves and tried not to touch anything other than the insulated-handled tools just in case. I think I saved at least $300 and am glad to know I fixed it myself. My husband is happy too!
