UPDATE: The hard drive was less than 2 weeks old and was never being transported when it failed. Thousands of files are gone and cannot be recovered, even after the significant expense of specialized recovery. No help or contact from Toshiba, overall a cheap and useless product. You've had 4-5WD drives over the years that never fail unless you just take good care of your data. DO NOT buy Toshiba drives. I will never endorse them or any product they make again. Makes a very, very strange clicking noise and won't let me move files to another drive. I have 4 paying clients working on what is currently in limbo. It may or may not be recoverable, but nothing to worry about with any of these discs. Buy a WD and don't worry about that hassle.
