I like the Fujitsu overhead book scanner for scanning large magazines and books. The scanner works well for quick scans but requires software tweaks as others have suggested. Scan quality varies and requires some page manipulation to create high quality scans. I use a plexiglass board to hold up book pages when legibility is important. Anyone using this overhead scanner will need Adobe Acrobat DC to make corrections. I believe Adobe Acrobat DC now comes bundled with the Fujitsu overhead scanner for a year's usage; After that, it costs $180 per year. It is not advisable to hold the pages of a book with your fingertips while scanning, as the software that came with the scanner can remove your fingertips if only one page is scanned at a time.
