I am very happy with this purchase. Firstly the packaging was very nice (brown square envelope with white bow, the scarf inside is wrapped in thin sealed plastic) which unfortunately I didn't think to photograph but it was nice enough to give as a gift. a gift to someone, if that's what you intend to do. Second, I washed it immediately as I do with all online clothing/fabric purchases. I was afraid that the colors would run or be erased, but that didn't happen! So if you had such question, yes it can survive washing. The company recommends hand washing in warm or cold water with a neutral detergent. I was too lazy so I tossed it in the machine with the same fabrics in cold water with no fragrance/color detergent and everything was fine. The fabric is quite thin and see through. When I put it on my bed, I can clearly see the design of my sheets, so it's not opaque. Folding it in half makes it a little more opaque. It's very soft so when used as a headband it can slip a lot so it needs to be fastened well but it can still work. Scarf 35x35 as described. Inches sometimes confuse people, so keep in mind that it is almost 3 feet long and wide. Overall great quality and arrived exactly as described which I really appreciate. I would buy again. Small update 24th July 2020: After having this scarf with me for over a month I have machine washed it several times (cold water with the same fabrics and a perfume/dye free detergent) with no problems. . The color is still vibrant and the scarf is in perfect condition. If you plan to machine wash, make sure you line it up with the same fabrics. Do not throw it in the car with jeans, bras, or anything else that could get caught and tear. I would also like to add that my washing machine is a highly efficient washing machine that only uses shaking and spinning to move it. If you have an old style washing machine where an agitator sticks out from the center of the machine and shakes clothes back and forth, maybe be more careful when machine washing, you might be better off hand washing. I'm not saying an old fashioned washing machine will damage it, I just don't know if the only reason my scarf has survived many washes is because my washing machine doesn't have one. Just wanted to make a little disclaimer because I don't want anyone to ruin their scarf because of my review! So far happy with my purchase.
