Many useful functions and easy installation

The Elite series is not a very nice device per se, but it doesn't have to be either. It sits under the dash where no one is looking and is just a device that pulls together all the sensor data your car is already collecting and transmits it over the air for you to access on your smartphone. The actual "product” is the application installed on your phone. The app is primarily for consumption (i.e. you don't control in-car apps like the thermostat from your phone, although I suspect future firmware updates might allow this depending on make/model). There are many useful features. Features: Track your car's location (good for tracking teenagers), track fuel consumption, report driver rating based on acceleration/brake etc., turn off text messages while driving, and pinpoint what's wrong with your car , if your engine is on fire. Not all features are available for all vehicle makes/models. In general, new car models have more functionality. More and more insurance companies are now offering discounts on this device, so it is possible that this device is largely worthwhile or subsidized. You must ask your health insurance company whether this applies to your situation. Installation was easy. To enable product connectivity, att.com has a quick activation process. The service costs $10 per month whether you are an existing AT&T customer or have no relationship with them. Expect a monthly bill from AT&T after you activate your device. Installing the hardware consists of simply plugging in the device and turning on the car. Anyone can do it once you find an OBD II port. There are a few steps required to set up the app, but it's more of a profile setup than an installation.
