Cute but sturdy, scratchy and smelly

I bought this collar for an elderly cat who has never worn it. Don't leave it with her for long due to her history of sensitive skin. Smelly and hard from the packaging - I think it's because of the strange material. I found the material more like soft velvet which is why I bought it. Instead it's the opposite 🙃 I'll keep it because it's cute but I'll have to take another one, more comfortable and softer.
