Safety lock on latch is flimsy

I bought this leash for my little chihuahua because it came with a safety lock to prevent the latch from coming loose. (It accidentally came loose on my old one and my dog got loose.) It works great when it stays in place, but it has a tendency to come off, which defeats the purpose. Not good. I do like the reflective feature. The leash itself is a little heavy for my little dog, but we make it work.

The leash may not be suitable for dogs with short hair
