I bought this because my first grader has distance learning this year and I also work from home, so our small manual pencil sharpener wasn't enough. But I'd really like to spend the extra money to get a better electric sharpener. It doesn't have much power to sharpen. You have to keep moving/adjusting the pins to actually get the blade to connect and it's VERY easy to spill shavings when you dump them as there is no 'cup' to collect the shavings. They just fall out unless you hold the sharpener sideways and empty the container. I gave it 2 stars because it allows you to use an oversized and regular sized pen, but that's the only reason. Otherwise I'd rather not buy it.
