Review on 🚪 Optimized Fit Pet Door by Jeff Chisholm

UPDATED April 22, 2019 I am updating my previous 2 star rating to 4 stars. This product has held up very well despite the fragile foil now covered in scratches. The strong magnet came off and my cat was able to come and go as she pleased comfortably but not so much that the wind blew into her and it is really very windy in that part of the house. Although the door itself appears to be well made, I am very disappointed with the fragile plastic sheeting used on the door. I thought it would be more durable than it is. The magnet is super strong. So strong my cat (10.5 pounds) has a hard time pushing it. I have a hard time opening it. I suspect it will scratch/punch through the brittle plastic before actually penetrating the strength of the magnet. They may have used a plastic wrap to make it less heavy on screen, but time will tell how long it will be before it starts showing tears. It's already showing scratches from my cat trying to cuddle. It won't be clear soon. I also wonder how well the plastic case holds up in the rain. While I was a little worried that I wouldn't fit my vertical screen (no door to put it horizontally), it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. it would be. Just make sure you have a piece of wood to attach to the screen to slam it back together if you find yourself in the same situation.
